Why Cost Per Sale (CPS) Sucks Part 2

Wait a minute, I'm an advertiser and I resent all that stuff about incompetence and fraud!

Okay, okay, settle down. You may be right. Maybe it was deliberately skewed in order to be mildly amusing and to make an important point. Let me put the shoe on the other foot and be equally rude about website publishers.

Too cheer you up, let me tell you something really funny. You know that fellow in your building who is involved in technology. You know the guy...bad complexion, blinks at bright lights. I can't quite remember his name, but at the office Christmas party he came as a Klingon...got drunk on one orange soda and threw up on Dave in accounting. Then proposed to Jenny in customer service saying she was almost as beautiful as "7 of 9", and when Dave got back from cleaning himself up in the washroom, Dave got mad and punched him out and the email didn't work for a month.

Oh...you know the guy...oh his name is on the tip of my tongue. Remember, Geoff in sales and marketing took him out to see that big client. Yes, that's right and the techy guy called the client a, "know-nothing" paramecium not worthy of his software genius" and then sulked over an orange soda at lunch and then threw up over the client and Dave had to drive him home. And then, while he was explaining to Dave that Captain Kirk had often helped Spock through the rigors of Pon Far and that it was perfectly logical,  Jenny turned up and punched him out and the email didn't work for a month.

Well, whatever his name is - and this is the funny part - Someone actually hired them as a commission-only salesman online. Honest! He's selling widgets on a Cost Per Sale basis. Is that the funniest thing you've ever....

...Oh, that was your decision?
